Kernan Trail has gone GREEN!

We are currently recycling PAPER PRODUCTS ONLY including: newspapers, magazines, office paper, school paper, catalogs, and mail. Recycled papers should be placed inside the recycling receptacle near the school's entrance.

Please note: We are not able to collect or recycle any cardboard at this time (including corrugated boxes, cereal boxes, pizza boxes, etc.)

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE CARDBOARD IN RECYCLING RECEPTACLE.

Flag Raising & White Table Ceremony

Kernan Trail Elementary is proud to honor our Veteran's in a special Flag Raising on November 10th at 8:45am. All parents are invited to join us for this event. In addition to the Flag Raising, Mayport Naval Station will perform the White Table Ceremony.

Please be aware that car rider traffic will be altered beginning at 8:20am that morning for preparation of this special event.

9:15am - White Table Ceremony for Kindergarten
9:45am - White Table Ceremony for 4th Grade
10:15am - White Table Ceremony for 1st Grade
10:45am - White Table Ceremony for 3rd Grade
11:15am - White Table Ceremony for 5th Grade

**If you must enter the school during one of the ceremonies, we ask that you please honor our guest with quiet respect.

PTA General Meeting

Mark you calendars for the PTA General Meeting on Thursday, November 19th at 7:00pm. The 4th grade will also be performing, so don't miss out!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held November 16th-20th. Come and check out the wonderful books and great offers available. I Scream for Ice Cream

You teachers are going to be dishing it up at Bruster's located at the corner of Atlantic and Kernan Blvd so come buy a waffle cone and support our school. The class with the most participation will get a party sponsored by Bruster's.

When I Grow Up...

It's Red Ribbon Week at Kernan Trail Elementary

and students are learning healthy attitudes about being drug free.

On Friday, October 23rd, students are encouraged to dress up in a

"CAREER COSTUME"

of their choice to celebrate

"What I Want to Be When I Grow Up Day".

No Halloween costumes, please.

Pick Up for Fundraiser Items

Thank you to all the students who participated in the Gourmet Easy Fundraiser. Fundraiser items will be at the school ready for pick up on Monday, November 2nd from 2pm-6pm. Please be ready to pick up your ordered items.

Advance Tickets for Fall Festival

Fall Festival Advance Tickets are now available. Send in your Advance Ticket Order Form and money by this Thursday, October 22nd. Please make checks payable to KTE PTA.

Tickets bought in advance are 5 for $1.00. Parents may pick up their advance purchased tickets in front of the office after 2:00pm on October 23rd or at the designated booth at the festival. All tickets sold at the Fall Festival will be 4 for $1.00.

All tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.

There will be a meeting held this Thursday, October 8th at 6:00pm at Kernan Trail Elementary to discuss plans for the Fall Festival. Get Your PTA T-Shirts

Get your PTA T-Shirts before they are gone! We have Youth Large available, but we are running low on Youth Medium and Youth Small, so get them while you can. Adult sizes are also available.

Fundraiser: Gourmet Easy

Please check your child's backpack for information about our delicious Fall Fundraiser with Gourmet Easy.

Available items include: Cookie Dough, Lava-licious Fudge Cakes, Pumpkin Roll, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Dianne's Cheesecakes, Southwestern Egg Rolls, and Ultimate Coffee. Check out the brochure for additional items and pricing.

All orders and money need to be returned to your child's teacher by October 12th. Payment can be made either by cash, check, and/or money order. Please have checks and money orders made out to "KTE PTA".

Items will be available for pick up in the school dining room on November 2nd. BE SURE to check out the prizes for the top sellers!

Fall Festival

Fall is in the air! Can you feel it? Well, maybe not quite yet, but mark your calendars for the annual Fall Festival at Kernan Trail!
